GolfDiscs.com, originally known as FrisbeeGolfDiscs.com, began as a Frisbee golf information and review blog created by Alan “Captain Chuck” Barker and Shankin’ Shane Evans sometime in the 2010s. After Shane graduated college and moved to Minnesota to pursue his career and real “adulting” life, the blog was mostly forgotten, with no new content added. Despite sitting idle for over half a decade, the site’s information remained helpful to readers and those looking to learn more about Frisbee golf.

In 2025 it was converted into an e-commerce website and was launched as a partnership between Opportunity For Africa (a nonprofit organization) and Discount Disc Golf, with a mission to create online job opportunities for underprivileged youth in Mozambique.

In Mozambique, steady employment and sustainable income are extremely difficult to come by, especially for young people. Most live day to day, struggling to meet even their basic needs.

All products on this website are shipped and supported through Discount Disc Golf’s fulfillment team, ensuring fast service while enabling impactful employment abroad.

The website and marketing are currently managed by Shackilla Cabral, a young woman from Mozambique who is using this job to save money to attend university in the United States. Her goal is to receive a quality education, build a better future, and break the cycle of poverty—something that remains out of reach for many in her country.
