What’s in Eagle McMahon’s Bag?

Eagle McMahon has been a man on a mission this year. He has won four Disc Golf Professional Tour (DGPT) titles in 2021 en route to becoming the number one rated player in the world according to the Disc Golf World Rankings powered by UDisc. It takes quality plastic to get to the top of the world rankings. Throughout his journey, he has stayed loyal to the only manufacturer who has ever been his sponsor; Discmania. During this past offseason, McMahon inked a three-year extension with the company that will keep the duo together through the 2023 season. Discmania has been on the cutting edge with disc design and has recently added many overstable molds to their lineup to suit McMahon’s big arm.

Below is a breakdown of discs in McMahon’s bag. Putters

P2 (Glow P-Line 175g x2) 2 / 3 / 0 / 1 – The P2 is a straight flying, but slightly overstable putter made by Discmania. This disc is stable enough that it can handle headwind throws and fairly long approach shots.

“I’ve been putting with the P2 pretty much my whole time on Discmania and I love it.”

P3X (S-Line 175g) 3 / 2 / 0 / 3 – The P3x is an overstable, flat, beaded putter. It’s great for short, penetrating shots in the wind while finishing with a fade.

“I can throw it on a slight anhyzer and it has enough stability to kind of fade out and sits really soft.”

Logic (Exo Hard 175g) 3 / 3 / 0 / 1 – This putter is the logical choice for your putts and approaches. The Logic has a low-profile ergonomic grip designed to fit a variety of preferences when it comes to hand feel. The slightly rounded nose feels very comfortable in hand and releases effortlessly every time. Our goal was to create something that is very responsive to minor adjustments for all types of throws and won’t burn you if you over-correct too much.

Tactic (Vapor 175g) 4 / 2 / 0 / 3 – The Tactic is an overstable putter built to be thrown with confidence for all types of shots. It features a flat top and a good grip for precision putts.

“It complements the P3X really nicely because it has that extra bit of stability.”

Midranges

MD3 (Color Glow C-Line 180g x2) 5 / 5 / 0 / 2 – The MD3 is a fast, stable midrange designed for power throwers. It performs well in all weather conditions and won’t turn over.

“It is the run-of-the-mill flippy mid-range.”

Mutant (Neo 180g) 5 / 3 / 0 / 4 – The Mutant is a brand new disc in the Discmania lineup. It is an extremely overstable midrange with low glide that can handle even the toughest of headwinds. Great for both backhand & sidearm shots and situations where you need extreme dependability.

“There are actually no curved edges on this disc… It’s very overstable.. I can throw it really hard on anhyzer and it’s gonna flex back.”

Fairway Drivers

FD2 (C-Line 175g x2) 7 / 4 / 0 / 2 – The FD2 is a reliable speed 7 workhorse fairway driver for all skill levels. It’s not too glidey to avoid you from sailing off-target and it has a low-speed fade you can depend on.

“This has been my go-to fairway driver… It comes out of the hand very, very clean.”

Essence (Neo 174g) 8 / 6 / -2 / 1 – The Discmania Essence is a super glidey 8 speed that can really go far. The Neo Essence is a great hyzer flip disc for those with bigger arms. The Neo plastic is one of the most durable plastics around and has a great grip to it. If you are a fan of other Discmania fairways, the Essence slots right in between the FD and CD2.

“This is by far the flippiest disc in my bag. I use it for rollers… Probably one of the most beginner-friendly discs in the Discmania lineup.”

FD3 (Color Glow C-Line 175g x2) 9 / 4 / 0 / 3 – The FD3 is targeted to everyone who can appreciate an overstable driver you can trust in all
conditions. The FD3 features an aerodynamic low profile and a very comfortable concave lower rim.

“If you go back to any sort of coverage you can see me probably throw this at least four or five times a round. It’s definitely a workhorse in the bag.”

Splice (Neo 176g x2) 9 / 3 / 0 / 4 – Brand new to the Discmania lineup, the Splices Merges control and overstability. The Splice is a very overstable and accurate fairway driver with low glide. This disc fits well to a variety of
different grips and it can be trusted even in the fiercest of headwinds. Great for all types of shots where you need extreme stability and reliability of the disc.

“It’s a jacked-up version of an FD3. Much more overstable but it’s not quite a Tilt but it’s kind of close.”

Distance Drivers

PD (C-Line 175g x2) 10 / 4 / 0 / 3 – The Discmania PD (Power Driver) is a fast and stable driver that handles wind well. The PD has a good glide and is useful for sidearm throws, stable power shots, and long flex shots for experienced players. This disc offers longer and straighter shots with a reliable low-speed fade.

“Whenever I need some distance but also control the PD has always been a go-to.”

PD2 (Metal Flake C-Line 175g x1, C- Line 175g x1, Luster C-Line 175g x1) 12 /4 / 0 / 4 – The PD2 is an overstable high-speed driver that is highly torque resistant. This disc has made Simon Lizotte famous! A bomber of a disc that is torque resistant and has dependable fade at the end of its flight. This disc brings comfort to both backhand and forehand drives. Great for higher arm speeds to throw flex shots. The PD2 is an advanced disc.

“PD2’s are just great utility, wind-fighting discs… Just throw it when the wind comes out or I need to get left quick.”

DD3 (Swirly S-Line 175g x2, S-Line 175g x1) 12 / 5 / -1 / 3 – The DD3 is a stable to overstable distance driver featuring enough stability to handle pro-level power without turning over. Just ask Eagle McMahon who is known to crush this disc down the fairway, getting it up to speed and giving it enough glide for a full flight.

“These are my go-to for long-range backhands, long-range side-arms assuming that the wind isn’t too crazy.”

Bringing It Together

Eagle McMahon is pushing the boundaries of our sport and doing things no one thought possible. The combination of distance off the tee and precision around the green have put McMahon in a league of his own. The lineup of discs at Discmania has allowed his skills to grow exponentially through the years.
